Glass Slipper

Description

I came across the teaser poster for the new Cinderella<img src="Image URL address" alt="Cinderella Teaser" />
 movie sometime last year.
I wasn't sold on the glass slipper so I decided to design my own poster based on the Disney one,
cause I'm such the better designer (*sarcasm*).

I picked a bit more modern heel and
inverted it just cause.

Bit of Maya and a bunch of PSD.

Kind of needs to be more faceted to give the impression it's made out of crystal, diamond or some kind of precious gemstone.

Lighting effects (lens flares) should be composited using something like Screening (lighten) or (Overlay/Soft Light / Hard Light) blending modes in After... err Photoshop.  Sorry, I've been using so much After Effects, it's not funny.

If you have any chance of getting ZBrush, I highly recommend it.  You can up the poly count on the model and then start drawing (turn on RGB and turn off Zadd/Zsub/Zcut).  I use this technique to help retopologize my models when ZModeler doesn't do good enough of a job for my tastes.  The interface takes a lot of getting used to though.  !
You still have access to MudBox!  Just UV Map your slipper, and bring it in there.  Bump upt the subdivisions a bit so you can just paint on the surface to plan the faceting.  (Sorry, I've really been into ZBrush for the past year)
